To enroll in the Blue Cross Blue Shield Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) process, you'll need to submit a request to your bank.
BCBS EFT enrollment is a convenient way to receive your insurance payments directly into your bank account.
To initiate the process, you'll need to provide your bank account information, including your account number and routing number.
This information will be used to set up a direct deposit, which will allow your insurance payments to be automatically transferred into your account.

Enrollment Process
Enrolling in Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) with Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Illinois (BCBSIL) is a straightforward process. You can start by printing a Practitioner Checklist or Facility/Business Checklist to track your progress and ensure you submit all necessary documents.
To enroll in EFT and Electronic Remittance Advice (ERA), you'll need to access the Transaction Enrollment tool on the Availity Provider Portal, which became the single online access point for enrollment in May 2021.
You can enroll in electronic options voluntarily, but it's worth considering the benefits of increased administrative efficiency, convenience, and security of patient and provider information.
To get started, refer to the Claim Payment and Remittance page for more information. You can also join a free webinar to walk you through the process, or use the EFT and ERA Enrollment User Guide for instructions.
If you're already enrolled for 835 EFT and ERA delivery from BCBSIL, you don't need to enroll again – simply use Availity's Transaction Enrollment tool to change or cancel your existing delivery.
Here are the training session dates and times for enrolling in EFT and ERA:

- April 21, 2021 – 10 to 11 a.m.

If these dates and times aren't convenient, you can email Electronic Commerce Services for other training options.
EFT Enrollment Details
You can enroll for Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) and Electronic Remittance Advice (ERA) via the Transaction Enrollment tool on the Availity Provider Portal, effective May 3, 2021.
This single access point replaces faxed or mailed enrollment applications, including change/cancel requests, which will be returned and redirected to the electronic option.
Enrollment in electronic options remains an opt-in arrangement, so you can continue to receive paper checks and/or paper provider claim summaries if you prefer.
However, enrolling for EFT and ERA can help increase administrative efficiencies within your provider organization.
Electronic transactions offer more convenience and greater security of patient and provider information.
To enroll online, refer to the EFT and ERA Enrollment User Guide for instructions or join a free webinar for a step-by-step walkthrough.

Enrollment Benefits and Remittance
Enrolling in BCBS EFT can bring numerous benefits, including reduced administrative burdens and faster payment processing.
BCBS EFT allows you to receive electronic payments directly into your bank account, eliminating the need for manual deposits and checks.
Electronic payments are typically processed within 24 hours of the payment date, compared to 3-5 business days for paper checks.
This means you can access your funds sooner, which can be especially helpful for businesses with cash flow management needs.
