PCI Protection

PCI Protection is a top priority for any business handling sensitive customer information. This is because the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI-DSS) requires merchants to protect cardholder data.

The PCI-DSS standard has 12 main requirements, including installing and maintaining a firewall. Firewalls are crucial in blocking unauthorized access to your network.

To ensure PCI Protection, you must also regularly update your antivirus software. This will help protect against malware and other cyber threats.

The PCI-DSS standard also requires merchants to limit access to cardholder data to only those who need it. This is known as the principle of least privilege.

In addition to these measures, merchants must also monitor their networks for any signs of unauthorized access. This can be done through regular security audits.

Regular security audits can help identify vulnerabilities in your network and prevent data breaches.

All Merchants & Orgs

All merchants and organizations that accept, transmit, or store any cardholder data must comply with the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS). This standard is a set of requirements designed to ensure a secure environment for all companies that process, store, or transmit credit card information.

The PCI DSS is administered by the PCI Security Standards Council (SSC), an independent organization created by the major payment card associations. These associations include Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover, and JCB.

Merchants that do not comply with PCI DSS may be subject to fines by the associations, card replacement costs, costly forensic audits, brand damage, and more in the event of a breach.

Effective July 1, 2010, all merchants must comply with PCI DSS. The Payment Card Industry requires USPAY Group and all card processing companies to contact their merchants and direct them to comply with these requirements.

An annual compliance fee of $99.00 will be imposed on all merchants each year to cover the costs of compliance. If a merchant is not in compliance, they will be charged an additional $24.95 for every month of non-compliance.

Here are some key details about the PCI DSS compliance requirements:

  • Compliance fee: $99.00 per year
  • Non-compliance fee: $24.95 per month
