In Norway, a unique financial cooperative model has emerged, where banks work together to provide better services to their customers.

This model is known as Samarbeidende Sparebanker, which translates to "cooperative banks" in English.

These banks are not-for-profit institutions that prioritize the needs of their customers and the local community over profits.

Samarbeidende Sparebanker have a long history in Norway, dating back to the 19th century.

They have a strong presence in rural areas, where they often serve as the primary financial institution for local residents.
