Making your Venmo transactions private can be a great way to keep your financial life out of the spotlight. To start, you can go to the Venmo app and tap on the three horizontal lines in the top left corner to open the menu.
From there, scroll down to "Settings" and tap on it. This will take you to a page where you can customize your Venmo experience, including your transaction settings.
To make your Venmo transactions private, you'll need to turn off the "Public" setting. To do this, go to "Settings" and then tap on "Transaction Settings."
Venmo Privacy Settings
Making your Venmo transactions private is a no-brainer. By default, all of your transactions are public, which means anyone on the internet can see exactly what you're sending and to whom. You can easily change this by opening the Venmo app, tapping the three lines in the upper right corner for the menu, and then tapping Settings > Privacy.

To make all your future payments private, simply tap Private under Default Privacy Setting. This will ensure that only you and the recipient can see the transaction.
You can also change the privacy settings for past transactions. On the same Privacy page, under more, tap Past Transactions and select Change to Friends or Change All to Private.
One benefit of using Cash App is that all transactions are private by default, so you don't have to worry about adjusting settings.
To make your Venmo private, you can also follow these steps: from your home screen, tap "Me" in the lower right corner, then tap "Settings" in the top right corner, and head to the "Privacy" section.
Here are the three choices you'll see: Public, which is visible to anyone, Friends, which is only visible to the sender, the recipient, and their Venmo friends, and Private, which is visible to the sender and recipient only.
You can change the privacy option for individual transactions while composing a payment or request by tapping the privacy option at the bottom right corner of the screen.
Making Your Venmo Account Private
Making your Venmo account private is a must to protect your financial transactions from being visible to the public. You can do this by tapping the three lines in the upper right corner for the menu, then tapping Settings > Privacy, and under Default Privacy Setting, tap Private.
This will ensure that all your future payments are only visible to you and the recipient. You can also change the privacy settings for past transactions by selecting "Past Transactions" on the same Privacy page.
To make your transactions completely private, you can also use vague descriptions in the transaction description, as Venmo shows who you're paying and the transaction description if set to Public.
Enable Two-Factor Authentication
To add an extra layer of security to your Venmo account, enable two-factor authentication. This will require you to enter a code sent to your phone number when you sign in on a new device.
To enable two-factor authentication on Venmo, open the app and tap the three lines in the upper right corner for the menu. Tap Settings, and under security, tap Remembered Devices. You'll see the device you're currently using, and possibly others you've used in the past.
To avoid needing to enter a verification code when signing in on a device you've used before, make sure it's added to your list of remembered devices. To remove any devices, swipe left and tap Delete.
If you want to enable two-factor authentication on all devices, you can delete them all from this list.
