Credit Karma offers two main deposit cash options: Direct Deposit and Bank Transfer.

Direct Deposit is a convenient way to get your refund or tax return deposited directly into your bank account, typically within 24 hours.

You can link your bank account to Credit Karma and receive your deposit as soon as the IRS processes your return.

Bank Transfer allows you to deposit your refund or tax return into your bank account by transferring funds from the IRS.

This method may take up to 2 weeks to process and is typically used when you don't have a bank account linked to Credit Karma.

What Is Credit Karma Money?

Credit Karma Money is a financial tool that offers a range of benefits for users. It's free to open and has no minimum balance requirements, making it accessible to anyone.

With Credit Karma Money, you can earn a 2.73 APY, which is a decent interest rate for a savings account. This means you can earn interest on your deposited cash.

There are no fees associated with Credit Karma Money, except for potentially drawing from out-of-network ATMs. This is a great perk, as it saves you money in the long run.

The Credit Karma Visa Debit card, issued by MVB Bank, offers access to over 55,000 ATMs in the Allpoint Network. This includes popular retailers like Target, Kroger, Walgreens, and CVS.

You can access your deposited paychecks up to 2 days early with Credit Karma Money, which is a convenient feature for those who need cash quickly. Each purchase is also eligible for a chance to win a cash reward, adding an exciting element to your spending.

Deposit and Withdrawal Options

With Credit Karma Money, you can get access to your tax refund up to five days early when you deposit it into your Spend account.

You can't use this feature if you've already paid your tax preparation fee with TurboTax or taken advantage of their Refund Advance.

High APY

The Credit Karma Money Save account offers a high-yield savings experience with a 2.73% APY yield.

This is undoubtedly impressive and stands out from other savings offerings.

The high APY makes it a smart way to save for goals such as saving for a house or a car.

You'll be earning more interest on your savings, which can add up over time.

This can be especially beneficial if you're trying to reach a specific savings goal, like saving for a big purchase.

Early Refund Access

Early refund access is available to Credit Karma members who deposit their tax refund into their Credit Karma Money Spend account, allowing them to get their refund up to five days early.

You can't double-down, though - if you file with TurboTax and use your federal tax refund to pay the preparation fee or take advantage of TurboTax Refund Advance, you're not eligible for early refund access through Credit Karma.

Online Check Deposit

Online check deposit is a convenient option that's available to almost anyone with a smartphone or scanner.

You can deposit a check online, and it's also known as mobile deposit, remote deposit, or remote deposit capture in the banking industry.

All you need to do is snap photos of the check using your bank's app, or use a scanner if you don't have a smartphone.

Banks have made it easy to deposit checks online, and it's a great way to save time and avoid visiting the bank.

TurboTax Refund Advance Loan

If you're an e-filer with TurboTax for your federal return, you could be eligible for a TurboTax Refund Advance loan.

You'll have to apply for the loan, but if approved, you'll receive up to $4,000 in your Credit Karma Money Spend account. This account is free to open if you don't already have one.

It typically takes 24 to 48 hours for the IRS to accept your return, and most filers receive their Refund Advance within 15 minutes of IRS acceptance.

You'll be notified when your funds are available and can use Credit Karma's mobile app to access your funds right away.
