By joining the network, BCBS has significantly expanded its provider network, now covering over 99% of the US population.
This means patients have more options for quality care, with over 1 million healthcare professionals now participating in the network.
The network's growth has also led to improved patient outcomes, with a notable reduction in healthcare costs.
BCBS has also made it easier for patients to find in-network providers, with a user-friendly online directory that allows for easy searching by location and specialty.
Provider Onboarding Process
To join the Blue Cross network, you'll need to go through the provider onboarding process. This involves being assigned a BCBSTX Provider Record ID, which is necessary for getting contracted into the BCBSTX Provider Networks or sending claims electronically as an out-of-network provider.
You can complete the necessary forms online, such as the Provider Onboarding Form or Demographic Update Form. After submitting your forms, you'll receive a confirmation email with a case number, which you can use to check the status of your onboarding process.
To check the status of your onboarding process, simply enter your case number into the Case Status Checker. This will give you an update on the progress of your application.
