If you're a BCBS member or provider, you're probably aware that keeping your address up to date is crucial.

BCBS requires both members and providers to update their address within 30 days of a change.

Here are the steps to follow for a successful address change.

Changing Your Information

Changing your information with Blue Cross is a straightforward process. You can update your billing address online in Billing & Payments to enroll in AutoPay, and any changes you make will be processed within 48 hours.

To update your billing address, log in to Blue Connectâ„ , select the Billing & Payments icon on your Blue Connect home page, and select Edit Billing Preferences.

You'll need to verify and update your information with Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Oklahoma (BCBSOK) every 90 days. This includes verifying your name, address, phone, specialty, and digital contact information.

If you leave a network, you'll need to update your information immediately and according to your contract terms. If you're a professional provider, you can use the Availity Essentials Provider Data Management (PDM) feature to quickly verify your information with us and other insurers every 90 days.

If you're unable to use Availity, you can use the Demographic Change Form. Facilities may only use the Demographic Change Form to verify and update data.

Here are the steps to update your data:

  1. Verify your name, address, phone, specialty, and digital contact information every 90 days.
  2. Use the Availity PDM feature or the Demographic Change Form to update your data.
  3. Submit your changes electronically or by U.S. mail, unless you've opted out of conducting business with us electronically.

Update Your Account Information

To update your account information with Blue Cross and Blue Shield, you'll need to verify and update your information regularly. This is a requirement to ensure accurate provider directories.

You'll need to verify your name, address, phone, specialty, and digital contact information every 90 days. This includes verifying your data even if it hasn't changed since your last update.

To verify your information, you can use the Availity Provider Data Management feature, which allows you to quickly update your information. If you're unable to use Availity, you can submit a Demographic Change Form.

Facilities may only use the Demographic Change Form to verify and update data.

Here are some changes you can make using the Availity Provider Data Management feature:

  • Personal information and service locations
  • Doing Business As (DBA) name
  • Payment address change and contact information
  • Group address change and contact information
  • Hours of operation
  • Business website URL

If you're a provider or facility, you can also make the following changes using the Demographic Change Form:

  • Legal name
  • NPI/tax ID
  • Directory information
  • Billing contact information
  • Credentialing contact information
  • Administrative contact information
  • Provider roster information (removing a provider from the group or location)

Remember, changes must be submitted electronically unless you've opted out of conducting business electronically, in which case changes will be accepted by U.S. mail.
