Where Is UBS Arena and How to Access It

UBS Arena is located in Elmont, New York, on the grounds of Belmont Park, a historic horse racing track. It's about 20 miles east of midtown Manhattan.

The arena is easily accessible by car, with plenty of parking options available on site. You can also take a taxi or ride-hailing service from nearby airports.

For those without a car, the Long Island Rail Road (LIRR) station is just a short walk from the arena. Take the LIRR to the Belmont Park Station, and follow the signs to the arena.

Getting to UBS Arena can be a challenge, especially if you're driving. There are five parking areas to choose from, but only the Emerald lot is available to buy ahead of time, located on the other side of the racetrack, a 15-minute walk away.

The Cross Island Parkway runs by Belmont Park, and using Exit 26D is a great way to access Emerald Parking. However, be prepared for a bottleneck at the exit, especially with pedestrians walking back to the train station.

Traffic in this area can be awful, and crossing bridges to get to NYC can lead to delays and frustration. I ended up using mass transit, which was the most convenient option for me, especially after the game.

The Elmont Station on the Long Island Rail Road is the closest station, but it still requires a 15-minute walk to reach the arena. The walkway is covered, which was a relief during the heavy rain I experienced.

Shuttle buses are available for both the train station and the Emerald Lot, but be prepared for a lengthy wait after the game. Trains come every 10-30 minutes, but be careful not to pick a train that requires a transfer in Jamaica.
