If you're a student participating in six or more credit hours of pre-registered summer course work, you're automatically enrolled in the Plan and assessed a fee. This applies if the courses assess general/mandatory fees, and you've registered by May 19, 2025.

Students who received academic credit for at least nine hours and were insured in the spring can still get summer coverage, even if they won't be enrolled in enough summer hours to be assessed an insurance fee. This can be done through MYISU by following a specific set of instructions.

Summer 2025 coverage can be requested starting the week of April 14, 2025, and through May 19, 2025, by accessing the Student Health Insurance page through MYISU.

Academic Vision Care

Academic Vision Care is a great benefit for students enrolled in the student health insurance plan. Eligible students can receive free prescription and non-prescription glasses and lenses through Academic Vision Care.

You'll need to set up an account to access this benefit, which will be emailed to you after the close of the term's open enrollment period. This is a convenient way to get the glasses you need without breaking the bank.

Visit the website https://ucf.myahpcare.com/benefits for more information on how to take advantage of this benefit.

Summer Coverage

Summer coverage is available year-round, but there's a specific process to follow. If you're participating in six or more credit hours of pre-registered summer course work by May 19, 2025, you'll be automatically enrolled and assessed a fee for the Plan.

You'll need to assess whether you'll be assessed an insurance fee for the summer. If you received academic credit for at least nine hours and were insured in the spring, but won't enroll in enough summer hours to be assessed a fee, you can apply for the summer fee through MYISU.

To apply for summer coverage, log in to MYISU, click on Student Center, then the NavBar, followed by Menu, ISU Extensions, and finally Student Health Insurance. If you're using a mobile device, follow the same steps, but click on the three dots on the top right of the screen first.

Summer 2025 coverage can be requested starting the week of April 14, 2025, and must be submitted by May 19, 2025.
