I've got some surprising news to share with you. Trump launched a GoFundMe campaign for hurricane relief.

It's not every day you see a politician taking a grassroots approach to fundraising, but that's exactly what happened. The campaign was set up to help those affected by the hurricanes in a specific region.

The goal was to raise a significant amount of money, $10 million, to support relief efforts.

Trump's GoFundMe Efforts

Trump launched a GoFundMe campaign for victims of Hurricane Helene, which has raised over $4 million as of Wednesday afternoon.

The fundraiser was organized by the Trump campaign's finance director Meredith O'Rourke, who directed all donations to help those most affected by the hurricane.

President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris are in the Carolinas surveying the catastrophic destruction left behind by Helene.

The death toll from Helene is up to at least 178, and is expected to climb as water recedes and recovery efforts continue.

President Biden approved the deployment of up to 1,000 active-duty soldiers to assist the North Carolina National Guard in the recovery efforts.

The hurricane made landfall in Florida last Thursday as a Category 4 storm, before traveling up the coast.

Over $10 million in individual assistance has been provided to survivors of the storm, according to the Biden Administration.

Florida Fundraiser for Hurricane Victims

A GoFundMe page has been set up to help those affected by Hurricane Helene.

The page was created by Meredith O'Rourke, a high-profile political fundraiser from Tallahassee, and has already raised over $4 million as of Wednesday afternoon.

More than 25,000 donations have been made to the page, with notable contributions including $500,000 from former Republican Sen. Kelly Loeffler of Georgia and $500,000 from real estate investor Steve Witkoff.

The page was authorized by former President Donald Trump's campaign and has received donations from various individuals and organizations, including Bass Pro Shops, which gave $100,000.

All donations will be directed to help those most affected by Hurricane Helene, with any level of generosity going a long way for those suffering.

Hurricane Helene left over 100 dead and millions without power, with some areas receiving over 30 inches of rain, causing widespread destruction and devastation.
