Lou Wenlong, a former bank official, has been embroiled in a graft scandal.

As a high-ranking official at China's Agricultural Bank, Lou Wenlong was responsible for overseeing billions of dollars in loans.

Lou Wenlong's involvement in the graft scandal has sparked widespread outrage and calls for greater transparency in China's financial sector.

Ex-Bank Official Under Graft Probe

Lou Wenlong, a former vice president of the Agricultural Bank of China, has been placed under investigation for suspected serious violations of law and discipline. This term is often used to indicate corruption.

Lou Wenlong is 66 years old and a native of Zhejiang province. He has a long history of working in China's bank system, with many years of experience before he was placed under investigation in May.

Lou Wenlong was investigated by the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection (CCDI), the country's top anti-corruption watchdog. His son, Lou Jie, was also taken into custody by authorities.

Lou Wenlong's investigation is the first case involving a former senior executive at a major financial institution since the government initiated a new round of disciplinary inspections targeting government departments and state-run financial institutions. These inspections began in early April and encompass 34 entities, including central government ministries, the central bank, major state-owned banks and insurers, and policy lenders.

Lou Wenlong's alleged violations include accepting huge amounts of properties and attending banquets paid with public funds. He also allegedly borrowed vehicles of his subordinate departments to engage in profit-making activities and transferred expenses that should be paid by himself to others.

Here is a list of some of the key figures involved in Lou Wenlong's investigation:

  • Lou Wenlong: Former vice president of the Agricultural Bank of China
  • Lou Jie: Son of Lou Wenlong and board secretary of CZB Financial Leasing Co. Ltd.
  • Wang Yaoting: Former vice governor of Huaxia Bank and Lou Wenlong's alumnus
  • Li Jun: Former governor of Chengdu Rural Commercial Bank and Lou Wenlong's alumnus
  • He Xingxiang: Vice governor of the China Development Bank and Lou Wenlong's alumnus

Lou Wenlong's case is part of China's ongoing anti-corruption campaign in the finance sector, which has led to several high-profile arrests, including former ICBC executive Zhang Hongli.
