Henry Kravis' Life

Henry Kravis was born in 1944 in New York City to a Jewish family. He grew up in a family that valued business and entrepreneurship.

He graduated from Yale University in 1967 with a degree in history. Kravis' academic background laid the foundation for his future success in finance.

Henry Kravis began his career in finance at Bear Stearns, where he worked from 1967 to 1972. This early experience taught him the ins and outs of the industry.

In 1972, Kravis co-founded KKR with Jerome Kohlberg and Stephen Schwarzman. This marked the beginning of his illustrious career in private equity.

Throughout his career, Henry Kravis has been recognized for his contributions to the business world, including being inducted into the Private Equity Hall of Fame in 2006.
