Chiefs Parade Shooting
The Chiefs Parade Shooting was a tragic event that occurred on February 20, during the Kansas City Chiefs' Super Bowl LVIII victory parade. A shooting broke out, resulting in the death of one person, Lisa Lopez-Galvan, and at least 22 other injuries.
The suspects, Lyndell Mays and Dominic Miller, were arrested and charged with second-degree murder, two counts of armed criminal action, and unlawful use of a weapon. Mays was also facing a $1 million bond.
Mays had initially pulled his gun and shot first during an argument with Miller, according to court documents. He later confessed to the crime and stated that he shouldn't have done it, calling it a "stupid" decision.
A GoFundMe page was set up by Mays' mother to help cover his medical bills after he was shot multiple times during the incident. The page raised $100 before Mays was identified as one of the shooting suspects.
