Gofundme car accident campaigns are often set up to help families cover funeral expenses, medical bills, and other costs that can add up quickly. In some cases, the campaigns can raise over $100,000.
Families often use these campaigns to raise funds for funeral expenses, which can range from $5,000 to $20,000 or more, depending on the location and type of service.
A gofundme campaign can help alleviate some of the financial burden that comes with a car accident, allowing families to focus on their loved one's recovery or mourning process.

USF Athletics Supports Athletes After Fatal Car Crash
USF Athletics has set up GoFundMe accounts for two football players who were involved in a fatal car crash. Courtney Beane, a junior wide receiver, was killed in the crash.
The university's head football coach, Jon Anderson, has asked for donations to help cover funeral expenses for Beane and ongoing medical expenses for Jared Brito, a junior defensive end who survived the crash with severe injuries.
Brito was thrown from the vehicle and disoriented after the crash, but was eventually located by police under the 49th Street bridge.
The funds raised in excess of the needed expenses for Beane's funeral and Brito's medical care will be donated to a charitable cause, as per NCAA bylaws.
A chapel service was held for Beane and Brito at USF on Tuesday to support the families and the university community.
GoFundMe Campaigns
A GoFundMe campaign was set up to help cover the hospital bills and lost income for Ariel's mother, who is a single mom of three.
The campaign was created by Ariel's aunt, Tiffany Verhulst, who noted that Ariel's mother will be in the hospital for the foreseeable future.
By Sunday evening, the GoFundMe had reached nearly $300,000 in donations from over 9,200 donors.
The campaign's goal is to help Ariel's family cope with the financial burden of her medical expenses and missed work, as her mother is unable to provide for her children during this time.
By Monday evening, the campaign had exceeded $360,000, showing the community's support for Ariel and her family.
