The prize for winning Demo Day was an invite to a VIP dinner with 18 investors at Estancia, which took place immediately after the event. This is a testament to the quality of startups that EvoNexus is producing.

Other notable startups that presented at Demo Day include LoanHero, AstroPrint, Dotstudioz, and Crypteron. LoanHero impressed with their revenue numbers from their consumer finance platform, while AstroPrint showed how far ahead they are in the 3D printing industry.

GroGuru, one of the nine companies from the San Diego incubator, pitched their proprietary technology that can save water and increase crop yields at Qualcomm's Irwin M. Jacobs Hall in Sorrento Valley.

The company expects to post $5 million in revenue this year and has systems installed on over 5,000 acres of crops.

MemComputing, a cloud-based solution for complex business scheduling problems, and QuickCarl, a digital marketplace for home repair services, were the runners-up in the vote by attendees.

AONDevices developed semiconductor technology to assist voice recognition on battery-powered devices, while Axalume created lasers on silicon chips to power fiber-optic cables connecting data center servers.

At a previous Demo Day, Wrapify was voted the winner for their innovative on-vehicle advertising technology, narrowly edging out Crypteron in the closest live vote in Demo Day history.

LoanHero impressed with their revenue numbers from their consumer finance platform, which offers a lower interest solution to funding every type of borrower.

AstroPrint showed that they're the Android and Google Play for the 3D printing industry, and how far ahead of the competition they are.

Dotstudioz introduced their content creator platform, dotstudioPRO, which empowers content creators to earn up to 10x what they can earn on YouTube.

Crypteron demonstrated how simple they've made it for developers to secure their applications in the cloud.

CARI Health was voted the winner of a Demo Day, wowing the audience with plans to use its technology to fight opioid addiction.

The Result was a thrilling moment at EvoNexus Demo Day, with Water Pigeon being announced as the winner and receiving an automatic bid to EvoNexus Demo Day in Silicon Valley.

The audience had just 5 minutes to cast their votes after all 6 companies pitched, which added to the excitement and sense of urgency.

Water Pigeon's win was no surprise, given the interest they generated from investors and future customers - all 6 presenting companies managed to gain attention from these key groups.

Although there was only one winner, the other 5 companies still proved to be attractive to investors and potential customers, making the event a resounding success.
