The Crowdfund UC Davis program runs twice a year, in February and October, with the goal of expanding to three times per academic year.
You'll need to provide the name of a gift account affiliated with the UC Davis Foundation or UC Davis Regents to participate. A gift account is a unique financial account for accepting donations for a specific cause.
To apply, submit a project application that undergoes thorough review by the Annual and Special Gifts Program (ASGP) and Advancement Services. This review ensures project viability and legality.
If your application is approved, you'll be required to attend a training session on crowdfunding and weekly office hours.
Emergency Fund
The Emergency Fund is a vital part of UC Davis's commitment to supporting its staff members in need. Since 2020, this fund has provided nearly $375,000 in vital assistance to hundreds of staff members facing unexpected financial hardships.

The need among our colleagues remains significant, but with your contribution, you can help extend this vital support to even more staff members. Some units have already demonstrated their commitment to the Emergency Fund, including UC Davis Health and Medical Center, School of Medicine, and School of Nursing.

October: 31 Projects for Transforming Lives
In October, UC Davis launches its Crowdfund campaign, featuring 31 dynamic projects that aim to make a real impact on campus and beyond. This year's projects are driven by students, faculty, and staff.

The campaign offers a wide range of causes to support, from cutting-edge research to sustainability and student aid. Whether you're passionate about making a difference in one area or another, Crowdfund UC Davis has something for everyone.
One standout project is the Student Emergency Relief Aid, or SERA, which offers up to $2,000 in emergency funds for students facing unexpected financial crises. Since 2011, over 350 students have been supported by this vital initiative.
The Center for Mind and Brain's Language Learning Lab is another project seeking support to uncover how deaf children learn in visual environments. Your contribution could fuel groundbreaking research leading to transformative interventions.
Advancing Womxn in Technology is a project dedicated to increasing the representation of womxn in IT at UC Davis. They foster innovation and inclusivity by creating opportunities for underrepresented voices in tech.
Since its debut in February 2020, Crowdfund UC Davis has raised more than $2.3 million from over 11,000 gifts and nearly 10,000 donors.
