CompuBank had about 50,000 accounts, including those acquired through co-branding relationships.
The account conversion will be completed in the second quarter, and CompuBank will continue to serve its customers until then.
It's unlikely that any members of CompuBank's management team will join NetBank.

Charles Boyd, senior vice president of product development at CompuBank, said customers have reacted very positively to DealTime. The alliance has been in effect since November, although it was announced last week.

Cyberbanking
Cyberbanking is a growing trend that's making personal finance more accessible and affordable. Thousands of people have already made the switch to online-only banking, and it's likely to continue.
The idea is simple: by not having physical branches, cyberbanks can offer lower fees and higher interest rates to customers. This is because they have substantially lower overhead costs compared to traditional banks.
Security First Network Bank was the first cyberbank to launch, in October 1995. It's a subsidiary of Security First Technology, which sells online banking software to other financial institutions.

Atlanta Internet Bank started from scratch in October 1996 and has already gone public, listing at $11 and currently trading at $26. TeleBank, which began as a phone-only bank in 1993, went online in March and has a market capitalization near its 52-week high at $20.25.
Here are some key stats on the current crop of cyberbanks:
TeleBank's acquisition of Premium Federal is a sign that this trend is here to stay. CompuBank is expected to launch its site sometime this quarter, and it will be interesting to see how it compares to the existing cyberbanks.
