Charge cards are a type of credit card that requires payment in full each month. They often come with high credit limits and rewards programs, making them appealing to consumers.
In the Shark Tank, charge cards have been a popular topic, with entrepreneurs pitching their own unique spin on the concept. One notable example is the "Charge Card Shark" who presented a card with a $10,000 credit limit and a 2% cashback reward.
Consumers should be aware that charge cards typically have no grace period, meaning interest starts accruing immediately if the balance isn't paid in full. This can lead to high interest charges if not managed properly.
The Charge Card Shark's product also featured a unique feature: no annual fee for the first year, making it an attractive option for those looking to save money.
Reviews and Analysis
The ChargeCard has received positive reviews from users who appreciate its compact size and convenience. It's small enough to fit in a wallet case, allowing for easy carrying.
One reviewer has found themselves using the ChargeCard on occasion, although they're not sure if they would have purchased it if not reviewing it. This suggests that the product's value is still being discovered by users.
The reviewer also mentions that the ChargeCard could be attached to the back of a phone case, adding minimal size and weight to the phone.
SparkCharge Recap
SparkCharge appeared on Shark Tank seeking $1 million for 65% of their business.
The company's founders, Josh and Chris, pitched their model and concept, but didn't have a consumer device yet.
Kevin O'Leary, also known as "Mr. Wonderful", was out due to the leasing aspect of the business.
Blake Mycoskie thought the company couldn't deliver a consumer unit for less than $1000, so he was also out.
Lori Greiner liked the concept and even suggested Mark Cuban team up with her.
Mark Cuban asked the SparkCharge guys to make him an offer, which they did.
They offered Mark and Lori $1 million for 10% equity share, 4% advisory shares, and a board seat, which they accepted.
The deal closed with Lori, and Mark is now a board member of SparkCharge.
In March 2021, SparkCharge struck a deal with Allstate Insurance to ramp up their mobile charging service, The Roadie.
The Roadie rolled out in June 2021 in Chicago, Los Angeles, San Francisco, and San Diego.
By November 2021, SparkCharge's annual revenue was $5 million.
In March 2022, Kia partnered with SparkCharge to offer free mobile charging to electric car buyers in San Francisco, San Jose, and Los Angeles.
SparkCharge raised $23 million in a series A round in May 2022 and another $7 million in August 2022.
Video Review
The Video Review section of a product review can be a great way to get a hands-on look at the item, as seen in the ChargeCard review on YouTube.
The reviewer found the ChargeCard to be small enough to fit in a wallet case, making it a convenient option for emergency charges.

It could also be attached to the back of a phone case without adding too much size and weight.
The reviewer had a similar setup on their old phone case, with a silicon card holder that allowed them to carry a license, cards, and a folded bill.
However, the fit with this case might be tight for the ChargeCard.
The reviewer has found themselves using the ChargeCard on occasion since getting it, but isn't sure if they would have bought it if not reviewing it.
Efficiency and Performance
The Charge Card's efficiency is quite impressive. It took about 79 minutes to charge an iPhone 14 Pro Max from 15% battery life to 46%.
A regular 20,000 mAh power bank can do the same job in just 45 minutes, but it's not as compact as the Charge Card.
If you're looking for a quick charge, the power bank might be a better option. However, the Charge Card's portability makes it a great choice for on-the-go charging.
In contrast, the Charge Card's 31% boost in charge took almost 1.75 times longer than the power bank's equivalent boost.
