After the war, the headquarters was moved back to Stuttgart in 1945.
In 1986, the business was converted into a joint-stock company called Bankhaus Bauer AG.

The Schuppli-Gruppe in Wiesbaden joined the business in 1992, followed by the Hypothekenbank in Essen AG and the Hypothekenbank in Berlin AG.
However, the Commerzbank AG took over the shares of the Schuppli-Gruppe and the Hypothekenbank in Berlin AG in 1994, becoming the majority shareholder of Bankhaus Bauer AG.
Under Wolfgang Kuhn's leadership, the bank's investment volume increased to over 700 million Euros between 1997 and 2006.
Kuhn left the bank in 2006, and the Schuppli-Gruppe merged its subsidiaries, including Bankhaus Bauer AG, due to the new Mortgage Bond Act.
The bank was re-founded or spun off in 2010, with the Raiffeisenbank Reutte reg.Gen.m.b.H. from Austria becoming the majority shareholder.
However, the BB Beteiligungs GmbH in Essen purchased the shares of Raiffeisenbank Reutte reg.Gen.m.b.H. in 2015, without disrupting the business or its clients.
