Bancaribe was founded on February 12, 1954, in Puerto Cabello, Venezuela, initially operating as a credit institution.
The bank's expansion began in 1955 with the opening of new branches in Barquisimeto and Barinas.
In 1956, Bancaribe opened four new branches: two in Valencia, two in Morón, and one in Puerto Cabello.
